This might sound odd coming from a software vendor, but the biggest benefits from the next wave of HR technology won’t require Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM customers to buy anything new. Instead, you just need to use what you already own. That’s why we’re emphasizing feature adoption. Using new features provides customers with a range of business and technical benefits, not the least of which is preparing you for next-generation technologies like GenAI.
Here are steps and resources to both get you started and help you follow through.
1. Adopt Redwood UX
There are several reasons to adopt the Redwood UX in Oracle Cloud HCM. First, Redwood offers immediate benefits to users, including a more modern, high-performing, and intelligent experience. Second, Redwood is the delivery vehicle for new GenAl capabilities (details below). And third, it is the only way to get new features in products like Oracle Cloud Journeys, Opportunity Marketplace, Dynamic Skills, Touchpoints, Grow, and more.
When and how you transition to Redwood depends on your adoption phase. Generally, we suggest that new or inflight implementations with a go-live date of August 2024 (or later) should move to a 100% Redwood UX. For live customers, we suggest starting to migrate to the Redwood UX now. Begin by reviewing documentation on Redwood pages and build an adoption roadmap based on what makes sense for your business. As of Release 25B, 100% of employee- and manager-self-service functions will be on Redwood UX, so you should plan on having your migration completed by then.

2. Get Ready for GenAl
Once you’re on the Redwood UX, you’ll have completed the most important prerequisite for adopting GenAI features. We’re embedding AI across all of Oracle HCM Cloud (as well as other Fusion Apps), so you’ll be able to opt-in to features like:
- Assisted authoring for job requisitions, employee recognition, and employee profiles
- Suggestions for survey questions and competency-development tips
- Summarization for performance reviews and candidate qualifications

3. Adopt Oracle Dynamic Skills
We have made an important licensing change: Oracle Dynamic Skills is now included at no charge with all Oracle Core HCM subscriptions. We’re motivated to get customers using it because we’re passionate about the profound and immediate benefits it delivers. For example, Oracle Dynamic Skills can help customers understand workforce skills, create upskilling opportunities for employees, and uncover skills that propel new business initiatives.
Adopting Oracle Dynamic Skills provides longer-term benefits, too. It creates a rich repository of data, which is data that’s needed to fuel AI. The better your skills data, the better AI will be at tagging job descriptions, automatically parsing candidate resumes to evaluate fit, and helping employees identify development opportunities that align with their aspirations.

Summing up
GenAI is hot. But only if you can actually use it. Now is the time to prepare your organization to adopt GenAI by putting the right UX and data elements in place. Taking these steps is free of cost.
