Oracle Inventory provides a fully automated physical inventory feature that you can use to reconcile system-maintained, item on-hand balances with actual counts of inventory. Accurate system on-hand quantities are essential for managing supply and demand, maintaining high service levels, and planning production.
As a part of this release, the following features are being introduced to physical inventory counting process for non-WMS enabled Organizations only.
1) Support for multiple serials for a single tag: Until 12.2.12, the physical inventory process can only create a single tag for each serialized item, i.e. there was only 1:1 mapping between a tag and an item serial. However, 12.2.13 introduces a new feature where a single tag can be generated for multiple serials. This feature has been made available both under Forms UI as well as from Mobile (MSCA).
- Form changes to support multiple serials: Like Cycle counting, the option is also provided to users in the Define Physical Inventory Screen, under “Serial control” section, to choose ‘Multiple per Request’ if a consolidated single tag is to be generate for multiple serials. (Navigation)–>Inventory–>Counting–>Physical Counting–>Physical Inventories–>Open Button
- Changes in MSCA to support multiple serials: Introduction of new Multiple serial support on top of existing Normal and Tag pages. For that login to MSCA via Materials & Mfg. > Inventory > Counting > Physical Count > Tag
2) Count History: Until 12.2.12, users can only count the previously counted Tag but the count history option is not available for them in the Physical Inventory process. In 12.2.13, a new button named “Count History” is introduced in the Approve Physical Adjustments Summary Screen, which provides the option of count history to users. (Navigation) –> Physical Inventory → Approve Adjustments → Count History
3) Physical inventory adjustments (XML) report: Its an existing report which has been enhanced to provide the option to view these newly added Cycle History and Multiple Serial with single tag options in the report.
