Oracle Yard Management provides many advantages to help an organization maximize the inventory flow in the yard of the manufacturing facility, warehouse, or distribution center. It provides visibility into inventory in your yard and the equipment checking into and out of the yard for both inbound and outbound operations.
Prior to R12.2.13 following Yard Management features were not available for WMS enabled orgs, with R12.2.13 release these Yard Management features can be used for even WMS enabled orgs.
This gives provision for WMS enabled orgs to effectively use yard operations and capture the transactions happening within the yard in real-time.
As a part of this release, following Yard Management features are enabled for Warehouse Management-enabled orgs:
- Equipment Check in – Ability to perform check in of yard equipment.
- Equipment Check out – Ability to perform check out of yard equipment.
- Schedule Dock Door Appointments – Allows scheduling of dock appointments directly or by using shipper/carrier appointments collaboratively scheduled in Oracle Inventory Management, Oracle Warehouse Management, or Oracle Transportation Management.
- Trailer Management –It provides visibility and control over the equipment across facilities in the enterprise.
- Real-time visibility of yard equipment – This helps in quickly locating equipment and their contents in real time.
- Equipment Sealing – When sending or storing material, a supplier or carrier applies seals to secure their loaded trailers, containers, or similar equipment to prevent tampering or theft.
- Equipment Unsealing – When a sealed trailer arrives at your yard, the seal needs to be removed or it needs to be unsealed before the material is received in the warehouse.
- Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) / Real-Time Locating Systems (RTLS) and Mobile RF enabled – Use mobile RF devices or integrate with RFID/RTLS solutions.
