New Feature in 12.2.14: Track Inter Organization Transfer Cancellation Transactions in Movement Statistics

Movement statistics is a system for collecting and recording the movement of material across international borders under the direction of government legislation.

The development of Oracle’s movement statistics solution was prompted by requirements from the European Union (EU). Oracle’s movement statistics solution is not specific to the European Community and can be implemented in any other economic zone, in any part of the world, such as the North American Free Trade Association (NAFTA).

With Release 12.2.13, movement statistics records were allowed for creation of Inter Organization Transfer transactions. With Release 12.2.14, Movement Statistics functionality is enhanced to allow the cancellation of Inter Organization Transfers.

As part of this release, a new Source Document Type “Inventory Return” was put in place to represent the inventory transactions that are cancelled. And Reset Movement Statistics Records API(INV_MGD_MVT_RESET_PUB.reset_txns) was modified to add the reset code for Inventory Returns.

Following is the sample Business case scenario.

Sample Business Scenario:

  •  An Italian company has operations in Italy and France.
  •  Italy is the Manufacturing plant that sources its components internally from France.
  •  Italy creates an Inter Organization transfer transaction of in-transit shipment type.
  •  France ships the components, but Italy receives only partial Quantity and cancels the rest of the shipment.
  •  The cancelled quantities are received back in France via a Return ASN (Advanced Shipment Notice).
  •  Movement Statistics Processor will pick up the Receiving transactions from both the countries and will   derive all the required information, such as dispatch and destination countries, movement amount, movement type, movement status, etc.
