The new HTML based Product Workbench (PWB) based on OJET technology serves to eliminate the dependency on IE compatibility plugin within Edge browser. The new PWB works with all browsers certified with EBS.

Users can seamlessly navigate between the HTML-based Product Workbench and the existing HTML-based Product Hub UI.  Eventually, this new HTML based Product Workbench will replace the Microsoft Windows-based Product Workbench available prior to release 12.2.14.

This will be available from the Development Manager responsibility and other places in the Application where the “Launch Product Workbench” was available. You will see a new button “Edit Structure” which will lead you to the new Product workbench.

Here is a sneak peek of the new UI –

New HTML based Product Workbench

The HTML-based Product Workbench will enable product managers to visually review, edit and manage items, product structures (bills of material) and edit attribute information for components in Oracle Product Hub. User access to the new Product workbench can be secured using “Product Workbench Access Role”

Using the new Product Workbench, users can –

  • Efficiently query items using a simple, keyword-based search
  • Access the product structure from search results with one click.
  • Review, edit and manage product structure (bill of material) changes, such as adding components, changing component attributes and deleting components, in the context of a structure or in the context of change order.
  • Honors role-based security and change policies for accessing, viewing & editing specific items, product structures and components.
