Recently Gartner published their latest round of In Depth Assessments, which are a series of scorecards for the major IaaS vendors - Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and now Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. We're excited to have taken part in this comprehensive evaluation as one of the Big 4 IaaS players.
Gartner In Depth Assessments evaluate cloud vendors' ability to address Gartner's list of required, preferred and optional criteria for production workloads running in the cloud. This year, their evaluation was based on 263 criteria points spanning everything from core computing, storage, and networking capabilities to integration with what is traditionally considered PaaS capabilities like database and data warehousing. Read Gartner's blog post to find out how the vendors scored.
Our inclusion in these assessments shows strong validation from top industry analysts that Oracle is firmly established among the leading hyperscale IaaS players, and that we're being recognized for our rapid pace of adding key new services while delivering the best price / performance equation in the industry. This plays well with a recent RedMonk report that showed how Oracle offers the most compute and memory dollar for dollar when compared with other clouds.
Gartner will dive further into the results of these In Depth Assessments during their popular Cloud War sessions at the Gartner Catalyst Conference later this month in San Diego. If you're attending, be sure to check out the bake-off on Sunday August 19, where Oracle solutions architects will demonstrate how you can deploy a 3-tier, highly available application environment on our cloud in 10 minutes. In addition, on Tuesday, August 21 at 10:45AM PT, Kash Iftikhar, our VP of Product Management and Strategy, will be joined on stage with Sherri Hammons, CTO of Beeline to discuss how they have been able to optimize their critical applications in the Oracle Cloud.
