As I reflect on my experience at Microsoft Build 2026, it’s clear the conversation around AI has shifted from experimentation to execution. This is why Oracle’s participation in Build this year was so important. It gave us the opportunity to meet with developers face to face to discuss how our partnership with Microsoft enables them to confidently leverage Microsoft developer tools and agents with instant access to secure, governed data to build production-ready enterprise applications.

A few important takeaways from Build

First, as evidenced by Satya Nadella highlighting Oracle as a strategic partner in his keynote, the partnership between Oracle and Microsoft matters. From a customer-enablement perspective, this partnership results in ongoing collaboration to simplify and optimize the integration of modern AI workflows with trusted Oracle data.

Next, across conversations in the Oracle booth and sessions, developers reinforced the importance of collocating and natively integrating Oracle AI Database services with Azure AI services, allowing developers to build intelligent applications in an environment where trusted enterprise data already lives. This is critical as Microsoft continues to innovate rapidly across Microsoft IQ, Foundry, Fabric, and the broader Azure AI ecosystem.

Finally, developers expressed strong interest in Oracle MCP servers as a practical tool for accelerating agentic application development. The ability to connect Microsoft IQ and agentic experiences to Oracle AI Database with strict access governance and strong security resonated deeply with attendees (see Microsoft blog for more detail).

What’s next?

The conversations we had with Build attendees confirmed that organizations want to leverage their trusted Oracle data to create amazing outcomes and value for their customers. By combining Oracle AI Database@Azure, Oracle MCP Servers, and Microsoft’s rapidly evolving AI platform, developers can build intelligent applications and agents grounded in trusted enterprise data while meeting the security, governance, and performance requirements of production environments running at scale.
