Inside the Security Matrix

Barb Darrow
Senior Director of Communications, Oracle

Keeping data safe and secure is a hugely complicated job. That is especially true for large businesses that collect, store, and analyze tons of data in a climate where a single breach can (and has) cost CEOs their jobs.

On this week’s Stories from the Cloud podcast, two cybersecurity experts talk with co-hosts Barbara Darrow and Michael Hickins about how the security matrix has changed as businesses flock to the cloud.

Tune in to hear Greg Jensen, senior principal director of security at Oracle, and Brian Jensen, risk consulting managing director at KPMG, discuss the following topics:

  • Companies must be clear about who in their supply chain is responsible for securing which data. The list could include cloud infrastructure providers, software as a service (SaaS) vendors, systems integrators, and internal IT.
  • The stakes are higher than ever, as business-critical supply chain, human resources, and manufacturing applications move to the cloud.
  • The accelerating push to adopt biometric authentication techniques, such as retina and fingerprint scans, will not cure our security woes.
  • The specter of shadow IT is still causing big security headaches at many companies.
