Oracle Interconnect for AWS is now generally available, giving customers a private, high-speed, fully managed connection between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and AWS. The service reduces the complexity of building and operating multicloud environments. With this foundation in place, customers can run applications, move data across clouds, and combine the strengths of OCI and AWS with less operational overhead, no egress fees, a reliable and consistent cost structure, and stronger security than a bespoke connection between their two cloud environments.
Oracle Interconnect for AWS entered limited availability earlier this year, giving early customers a first look at private, on-demand connectivity between the two clouds. General availability builds on that foundation with a production-ready service for any customer running distributed architectures across OCI and AWS.
Multicloud is no longer the exception for enterprise customers. Teams are placing application components where they fit best, in AWS or OCI, and expect those components to operate and interact across environments. Historically, that has meant standing up a custom networking project: negotiating third-party connectivity contracts, managing bespoke security models for every connection, and accepting the operational overhead that comes with stitching two clouds together. Oracle Interconnect for AWS is built for a different reality. It is an on-demand private connection that network and security leaders create and manage through familiar cloud interfaces, while the service itself handles the underlying connectivity complexity.

Security and resilience, built in
Oracle Interconnect for AWS supports private application-to-application flows and data movement between AWS and OCI over a private network, with always-on encryption available as part of the service design. This is especially useful for teams that want private connectivity without building a bespoke security model for every connection.
When connectivity underpins production workflows, resolution speed matters. Oracle Interconnect for AWS is designed for joint operations between Oracle and AWS. Customers can work through standard support interfaces, with coordinated Oracle and AWS engagement when issues arise that affect traffic across cloud service providers.
What’s next
General availability starts in OCI Ashburn and AWS US East (N. Virginia), with additional OCI and AWS region pairs planned in the months ahead.
