Welcome back to ACE Spotlight, our weekly journey around the world to meet the people behind the expertise of the Oracle ACE community.
Week by week, we’re discovering just how many different paths can lead into this community — different technologies, different career journeys, different levels of experience, and different parts of the world.
What connects them is a passion for learning, sharing knowledge, building community, and helping others succeed.
This week, our journey takes us to Argentina, where we meet
Oracle ACE Director Gustavo Gonzalez

Gustavo has been working with Oracle technologies since the late 1990s and has been part of the Oracle ACE Program since 2010. His journey has taken him from Oracle Financials and E-Business Suite to Fusion Applications, OCI, integrations, and today’s world of AI Agents.
But first, let’s head to his hometown.
🌍 Where in the World Are You?
I’m based in General Villegas, a small town in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina.
It’s the kind of place where you can’t walk down the street without saying “hello” to someone — not because I’m anyone special, but because most people here have known me since I was a kid.
It gives you a bit of a “local celebrity” feeling that is really just small-town familiarity!
🎉 Three Fun Facts About Me
I’m an amateur padel player, but I take it seriously enough to compete in about two tournaments a month.
I’m also a featured speaker on a local radio show, where I talk about technology with the community.
And despite being Argentine, I genuinely have no idea how to dance tango. 🇦🇷😄
☕ My Perfect Weekend
My ideal weekend is simple: family and extended family, all together at our house in Pinamar.
That time together is what recharges me the most.
⭐ ACE Since…
I became an Oracle ACE in August 2010 and was awarded Oracle ACE Director status in August 2012.
🚀 My Oracle Journey
My first job working with Oracle technology was at Nike Argentina in 1999.
They were running Oracle Financials, and I was hired to build extensions using Oracle Database, Forms, and Reports.
That role helped me become an expert in Oracle Financials, and I spent many years implementing Oracle E-Business Suite across different industries.
Later, after joining an Oracle Partner, I expanded into Fusion Applications very early in the product’s journey, becoming an early adopter around 2010.
One particularly memorable moment was even being featured in Larry Ellison’s keynote presentation at Oracle OpenWorld.
Over the years, my Oracle journey has continued to evolve alongside the technology — from Financials and E-Business Suite to Fusion Applications, OCI, integrations, enterprise architecture, automation, and now AI.
💡 One Oracle Tip Everyone Should Know
Right now, I’m deep into AI Agents, both in Fusion Applications and Private Agent Factory.
One practical lesson I’ve learned is this:
Get your prompt accurate — and once it’s working, don’t mess with it unnecessarily.
Small “improvements” to a prompt that is already working are often exactly where things start to break.
Sometimes knowing when to stop changing something is a technical skill too!
🛠️ Projects I’m Proud Of
A few projects stand out for very different reasons.
The Y2K project at Nike, particularly for the Argentina operations, was memorable because of the sheer uncertainty everyone was operating under at the time.
Another was implementing Manufacturing at a Danone yogurt plant in Argentina using Oracle E-Business Suite. What I remember most about that project was the team — it was simply a great group of people to work with.
And then there was building the KNEX Visa Adapter in partnership with Visa.
That one was a long journey, but the outcome made all the effort worthwhile.
Different projects, different technologies, different challenges — and each memorable for a different reason.
📚 What I’m Learning Right Now
I’m learning something new about AI pretty much every day.
My particular focus right now is on Oracle Fusion Applications and Private Agent Factory.
The technology is moving quickly, which means there is always something new to experiment with, understand, and apply.
💬 Ask Me About…
Ask me about Oracle Fusion Cloud — ERP, SCM, HCM, and CX — as well as OCI, OIC, VBCS, enterprise architecture, AI-driven automation, and Private Agent Factory.
I also co-authored the Oracle E-Business Suite Financials Handbook and have been involved extensively with Oracle user groups.
I co-founded the Argentina Oracle User Group and have served in leadership roles with LAOUC and OATUG.
And if we want to move completely away from technology, my recommendation is simple:
Visit Argentina! 🇦🇷
There’s so much to see — and while you’re here, send me an invitation to play padel.
🌟 Advice for Aspiring Oracle ACEs
My biggest piece of advice is simple: Your knowledge and experience exist to be shared.
The knowledge you pass on may end up helping someone else somewhere in the world — and you may never even know where.
That’s part of what makes sharing so valuable.

This week, ACE Spotlight took us to General Villegas, Argentina — from a small town where everyone seems to know everyone, to an Oracle career that has spanned more than 25 years of technological change.
Gustavo’s journey has moved from Forms, Reports, and Oracle Financials to Fusion Applications and AI Agents, but one theme has remained remarkably consistent: community.
Whether that means sharing expertise, speaking on local radio, helping build user groups, or passing knowledge to someone on the other side of the world, Gustavo’s story reflects something at the heart of the Oracle ACE Program:
Knowledge becomes more valuable when we share it.
