Oracle Academy brought together more than 50 teachers from 30-plus vocational high schools for a Knowledge Builder event at SMK Negeri 2 Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on September 3, 2026. The gathering focused on helping educators equip students with foundational knowledge and industry-relevant, career-focused technology skills.

The participating schools offer programs in Information Systems, Networks, and Applications (SIJA), Software Engineering (RPL), Software and Game Development (PPLG), and Computer Network and Telecommunications Engineering (TJKT). The Education, Youth, and Sports Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta and the Directorate of Vocational High Schools within Indonesia’s Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education supported the event.

In his opening remarks on behalf of the participating vocational schools, Drs. Moh Rokhis, Principal of SMK Negeri 2 Yogyakarta, thanked the Oracle Academy team for the opportunity to reconnect with the program. He highlighted the importance of its resources in helping teachers stay current with technological developments and deliver industry-relevant learning.

Nurul Huda, Oracle Academy Manager for Southeast Asia, led the session, introducing curriculum, teaching resources, professional development opportunities, and technology available at no cost through membership for eligible institutions. The event also aimed to reconnect educators from existing member institutions with the program and to encourage institutions to reactivate their memberships.

Connecting classroom learning with technology careers

Participants explored resources spanning Java, database, Oracle APEX, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and data center operations.

Java and database curriculum build foundations in programming and data management, while Oracle APEX provides opportunities to apply these concepts through low-code application development. Cloud and data center resources introduce the infrastructure behind digital services and AI technologies. Together, these areas offer practical ways to connect lessons with career pathways in software development, data management, and infrastructure support.

Reconnecting educators with resources for teaching

The session highlighted professional development opportunities and hands-on technology environments to help teachers strengthen their expertise and design practical learning activities. Nurul encouraged returning members to revisit available benefits and select materials aligned with their students’ current knowledge, program requirements, and learning goals.

By renewing engagement with Oracle Academy, the event supported vocational educators in bringing industry-relevant learning into their teaching and helping students prepare for further studies and future careers.
