In collaboration with the University of Sharjah (UoJ), Oracle Academy program manager Ola Ramadan hosted a virtual Faculty Day for UoJ educators.

The event highlighted the latest offerings to our valued members, including an overview of the new Oracle Academy Applied Database Systems course which enables educators and their students to learn a range of skills required to build modern cloud database solutions.

Ola discussed with UoJ educators how they can use the Oracle Academy Cloud Program to expose their students to hands-on practice in the cloud to teach, learn, explore, build, and develop, free of charge.

The Oracle Academy Cloud Program provides access to Oracle Cloud Free Tier to Oracle Academy Institutional members and their anytime/anywhere students―with easy signup and all the benefits of Oracle Academy membership. Plus, teachers enjoy one-time classroom setup with no maintenance needed.

Educators can use the cloud for classroom teaching and learning to prepare students to become tomorrow’s technology innovators and leaders. Member educators and their students can access always-free Oracle Autonomous Database, Compute Virtual Machines (VM), object storage, data egress, and other essential building blocks needed to create applications on top of Oracle Autonomous Databases.

Through the Member Hub, educators can access a range of resources to support their classroom teaching and learning.

Oracle Academy hosts activities for our members in MENA such as a series of online Office Hours and other learning events to highlight the features of the Oracle Academy program, the Oracle Academy Cloud Program, and other curriculum and resources.

We wish to thank Dr. Mohammad Abdullah A.R. Alsmirat, Associate Professor,
College of Computing and Informatics, for arranging the event with Oracle Academy, and the many faculty who attended and engaged in an interesting discussion on how the program benefits could be used in their classrooms.
