In this episode of the Oracle Academy Tech Chat podcast, host Tyra Crockett, Senior Manager Oracle Academy North America, and Edgar Perez, Oracle Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) Strategy Program Leader, discuss why D&I is essential to modern organizations. Edgar shares his personal story, and some of the challenges he faced as a college student, and how it led him to his career in D&I.

To begin, Edgar shares with Tyra his definition of diversity and inclusion. They speak about why prioritizing D&I is vital to the success of businesses today. They chat about how important it is to bring your authentic self to the workplace in order to advance your career; by bringing your authentic self, you help foster understanding and respect.  Finally, they speak about why community engagement and continuing future investment in programs targeting youth is important to D&I growth.
