Oracle Academy recognized at Annual Construction & Engineering Students Convention in Kenya

The Annual Construction & Engineering Students’ Convention and Awards Ceremony brings together members of academia, partners, students, and other stakeholders in real estate, construction engineering and management for a day of learning, reflection, recognition and networking. This years’ event was held June 2, 2023, at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Westlands, Nairobi. The event was organized by the Construction and Real Estate Students’ Association (CRESA) and the University Of Nairobi Faculty Of Built Environment.

 

Oracle Academy was recognized and awarded for its outstanding contribution to the field of education technology innovation in construction and engineering, and also for its invaluable support as a collaborator in education. 

 

The Best Education Technology Innovation award recognizes the value and impact of Oracle Academy as a champion for computing education, supporting students through technology solutions and resources that aspire to automate processes and research new approaches while using innovative solutions such as Oracle Primavera to create a sustainable future.

 

The students’ convention and awards ceremony is a prestigious event where the achievements and contributions of exceptional individuals and organizations to the construction and real estate space are celebrated.

 

In an announcement, Anthony Muoki, President of the CRESA Students Association, stated, “We have worked closely with various partners this academic year, and we are honored to announce that the best technology innovation availed to our construction and engineering students has been Oracle Primavera through Oracle Academy.”

Your pioneering initiatives and solutions have transformed the way we educate and prepare our students for the challenges of tomorrow. As a leading provider of cutting-edge technologies and resources, Oracle Academy has been instrumental in empowering students and educators to excel in the digital era,” said Arch. Peter Njeru, Chairman, Department of Real Estate, Construction Management and Quantity Surveying. “A perfect example is our recently held Oracle Primavera P6 skills training workshop for construction and engineering project management. Given your remarkable achievements, we are honoured to present Oracle Academy with the "Best Education Technology Innovation and Supporting Partner" award. Your dedication to promoting excellence in education aligns perfectly with our vision as a university, and we believe that your presence and participation in this event will inspire aspiring professionals and further raise awareness about the importance of technology in the field of built environment.”

 

The guest of honor, former Cabinet Secretary for Land and Physical Planning, Hon. Farida Karoney, EGH, highlighted the importance of keeping up to date with current technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, virtual reality, and the Internet of Things. She urged the students to take advantage of the free teaching and learning resources offered by technology partners such as Oracle before they graduate.

 

She added that professional certificates are crucial for professional growth and adds credibility to expertise. “Earning a certification demands time and resource commitment, but they also help you get recognized for your unique knowledge and skillset, and hence give you a competitive edge in the job market,” she said.

This award demonstrates Oracle’s commitment to advancing computing education in Kenya,” said Lorna Juma, Oracle Academy Program Manager. “Through our collaboration with educational institutions, students have access to Oracle software that is widely used across various industries while learning IT, business and project management skills.”

 

Oracle Academy provides access to the Oracle Primavera P6 Professional Project Management curriculum free to educators and their students. Through the Oracle Academy Career Center, students are also able to access the Project Management Explorer, Primavera P6 Professional and Business Analytics Expert curriculum. The career center offers a platform for students to connect Oracle Academy core curriculum and career pathways with the option to explore Oracle professional certifications.
