EDB StartUP National Competition 2024 in Romania

Oracle Academy and the Adfaber Association are delighted to congratulate the winners of the fourth edition of the EDB StartUP National Competition, held in conjunction with Tudor Vianu National College of Computer Science in Bucharest.

The EDB StartUP 2024 competition, organized by Adfaber and sponsored by Oracle Academy, is open to all high school students in Romania, allowing teams of up to three students and a coordinating teacher to participate.

Utilizing free courses provided by Oracle Academy, students learn database modeling. The competition serves as a practical test of their studies, with teachers guiding students to complete their projects. Projects are judged by IT specialists, who evaluate them based on adherence to the theme, innovation, complexity, and creativity.

This year's theme focused on "Traffic Management Systems at Intersections," encouraging participants to innovate in optimizing and ensuring urban traffic safety. Participants faced the challenge of designing database systems to efficiently monitor and manage traffic flow, exploring technology's potential to make cities safer and more resident-friendly, marking a significant step in using technology to solve real societal issues.
