The State University of Library Studies and Information Technologies organized the UNIBIT Career forum event in Sofia, at which representatives of different IT companies participated with the aim of making students aware of the types of jobs and careers available in the IT sector. This was a very nice opportunity for students to meet and network with professionals in the IT field. As a socially responsible company, Oracle supports the career development of young people. UNIBIT University is a well established Oracle Academy member since 2017.
Oracle had a booth at this event, and Oracle representatives had direct discussions with UNIBIT students interested in pursuing careers in the IT sector. They presented different job roles that exist in Oracle Bulgaria as well as the possibilities for career development, and also answered the students’ many questions. Staff presented on the Oracle Academy program, which is available free of charge to universities and educational institutions in Bulgaria and throughout the globe. Presenters detailed the program’s offerings, including the Oracle Academy Cloud Program which offers access to Oracle Cloud Free Tier, career learning resources in the Oracle Academy Member Hub, Java and database curriculum, Education Bytes, and Oracle APEX, and provided giveaways to the interested students.
During the panel discussion, representatives of the key IT companies in Bulgaria addressed and discussed interesting questions from the students.
Many thanks to the Oracle employees that took part in this event, making it a success for both Oracle Academy and those students interested in IT. Oracle was represented by Daniela Milanova, Principal Technology Architect; George Hira, Senior Technology Software Sales Representative; Velina Topalova, Senior Technology Software Sales Representative; and Inna Bebova, Advisory Support Account Manager.
