A special online event was organized for all university professors and their students in Romania, both Oracle Academy members and non-members, to learn the latest about Oracle APEX low-code/no-code application building.

This event brought together 242 university educators and students on November 18, 2025, and was organized by Camelia Ditescu, Oracle Academy Romania & Moldova. Speakers included Camelia as well as:

The event started with a short presentation on the Oracle Academy program and its benefits for educators and their students. Then a short panel introduced the upcoming speakers and developed questions for them.

In his presentation, Damian discussed how knowledge learned from Oracle Academy resources can translate into big business, and shared Pretius case studies with major clients, AI innovations, and professional DevOps in Oracle APEX. Pretius is an Oracle technology partner specializing in delivering enterprise-class solutions, particularly using the Oracle APEX platform. Its specialists handle special assignments, taking on the most difficult and complex migrations from Oracle Forms systems to the modern APEX environment. The company has successfully delivered over 1,000 projects, achieving a 93% client retention rate. Implementations include global systems for major companies.

Damian mentioned how for students, learning technology is an investment in the future, and that the skills acquired at university are the foundation of systems powering the world’s largest corporations. He noted that at Pretius has completed more than 1,000 projects, and combines academic passion with business effectiveness, presenting enterprise-class solutions.

This presentation proved that low-code does not mean “low-quality”. Whether a student is looking for inspiration or an IT leader is looking for a trusted technology solution, Oracle APEX offers a tool to accomplish big ideas.

“Our experience at Pretius demonstrates that Oracle APEX is a mature low-code platform capable of delivering scalable and secure enterprise systems when paired with a professional CI/CD pipeline. We want to show students that these skills are worth investing in. As experts in the most challenging Oracle Forms migrations, we prove that modernizing even the most complex systems is possible. By serving major clients, we confirm that ‘Think Big’ in APEX is our operational reality,” said Damian.

For the second presentation, Andreea Dobre covered live demos showcasing a few of the latest APEX 24.2 features. Its new AI capabilities improved the user experience in a high school Q&A application. She then demonstrated how users can interact directly with JSON Sources and build components on top of it in an application. Additionally, to keep a streamlined developer experience, she listed different examples on how to scan applications easily and view reports on references to database objects.

“I was delighted to see how Oracle APEX is attracting more and more students to explore, learn, and use it in their future jobs. Their questions and curiosity prove this is an ongoing journey for us as speakers to keep this interactions alive through future events, which is amazing,” she said. “Thank you to my co-speaker, Damian; it was a pleasure to collaborate with you in this project and engage with our local community. Whether attendees joined to learn, network, or simply enjoy the experience, the APEX online event offered something for everyone, helping to break down barriers and encourage open dialogue. Many participants formed new connections, renewed existing relationships, and gained a deeper sense of belonging within the university.

Through discussions, presentations, and Q&A sessions, attendees were exposed to new ideas, perspectives, and approaches. This exchange of knowledge sparked curiosity, inspired innovation, and reinforced the university’s commitment to academic and personal growth.

The event motivated members of the university to take part in future initiatives, contribute their skills, and play a more active role in university life.
