Oracle Academy is delighted to support Scifest, Ireland’s largest second-level STEM fair program, engaging more than 16,000 students each year in an inclusive celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Since its launch in 2006, over 130,000 students have taken part, supported by more than 1,000 teachers and volunteers who power fairs at school, regional, and national level across the country.

Now marking its 20th anniversary in 2026, SciFest continues to champion curiosity, creativity, and innovation among young people from every background. The programme provides a clear and supportive pathway for students to develop their ideas, beginning with local SciFest@School fairs, progressing to regional SciFest@College events hosted in third-level institutions, and culminating in the SciFest National Final. Top projects also may earn the opportunity to represent Ireland at international competitions, including the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair.

Inclusion is central to SciFest’s mission. Entry is free, and the program actively works to remove financial and geographic barriers so that all second-level students, regardless of circumstance, have the opportunity to explore real-world challenges through STEM. Students present projects across a broad range of disciplines, from life and physical sciences to technology and engineering, building not only subject knowledge but also confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Oracle Academy strengthens the program’s ability to ignite students’ passion for STEM and expand access to high-quality learning opportunities nationwide, reflecting a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators and ensuring that STEM education in Ireland remains dynamic, equitable, and future-focused.

Students across the country are currently preparing for upcoming regional SciFest@College fairs. To take part, students must submit their projects via the online entry form on the Scifest website by March 12, 2026, with successful participants advancing to compete for national recognition later in the year. Meanwhile, SciFest@School fairs are taking place throughout the academic year. To date, over 130 schools have registered to host their own in-school fair, with many more expected to sign up in the months ahead.

Oracle Academy is delighted to support Scifest to encourage students in exploring the future of STEM through their new ideas and inventions.
