The Ministry of Information, Communication, Technology and Innovation (MINICT) and Oracle have signed a collaboration agreement on a national digital skills development initiative in Rwanda. This landmark initiative, established through a new Memorandum of Understanding, is designed to deliver high-quality, industry-recognized digital training to Rwandans through Oracle’s education programs: Oracle Academy and Oracle University.
This collaboration supports Rwanda’s Vision 2050 and the National Digital Talent Policy, aiming to expand access to cutting-edge training in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and database technologies. Through this collaboration, educators across universities, colleges, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, students, and other Rwandan citizens will have the opportunity to acquire modern digital skills that align with global workforce demands.
This collaboration seeks to create a journey from the classroom to lifelong learning. The initiative represents a comprehensive 360º skilling journey, designed to meet the diverse needs of Rwandan citizens, and prepare students for the future of work.
Oracle Academy will play a crucial role in equipping educators with innovative curriculum and versatile training resources, enhancing teaching capacity across educational institutions. This also includes learning resources, Oracle Cloud technologies, Oracle APEX, a wide range of software, support, professional development options, and professional certification resources.
Oracle University, on the other hand, will provide professional development training resources and key foundational certifications through a co-branded e-learning portal, preparing participants for success in emerging IT and digital roles.
With the launch of this national digital skills development initiative, the MINICT Rwanda and Oracle reaffirm their shared commitment to building a future-ready workforce.
