On December 5, 2025, the Premier Digital Tech Institutions (PDTI) Deans Meeting was held by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the government agency driving Malaysia’s digital economy. The event brought together around 44 deans and professors from PDTI institutions alongside approximately 10 MDEC representatives, creating a robust platform for strategic discussion on nurturing Malaysia’s digital talent pipeline.

The PDTI initiative, spearheaded by MDEC, is a flagship program that brings together key stakeholders from industry, universities, and educational institutions to collectively address the gap between rapidly evolving industry demands and the local talent supply. Through this spirit of public-private partnership, PDTI plays a pivotal role in fulfilling Malaysia’s ambition to become a global hub for world-class digital business and talent. In his opening address, Mr. Nik Hishamuddin, Senior Manager of Digital Talent–Tertiary at MDEC, shared key accomplishments for 2025 and emphasized that fostering close collaboration between higher education institutions and industry partners remains a top priority in developing future-ready digital talent for the country.

During the Industry Sharing session, Jean Shin, Oracle Academy Program Manager, was specially invited to present Oracle Academy’s comprehensive educational offerings. She highlighted the four core curriculum tracks for academic institutions—Java, database, cloud, and project management—alongside modules based on Oracle’s industry-leading solutions including NetSuite, Oracle APEX, and Primavera, which are widely used in real-life enterprise environments.

She underscored how Oracle Academy currently supports over 13,000 institutions and 38,000 educators globally, providing both faculty and students with free access to industry-standard software, learning materials, certification materials, and opportunities for creative projects. She also emphasized how Oracle Academy’s latest curricula, aligned with cutting-edge technology trends such as cloud computing, machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI, are designed to empower educators and their students with skills, recognized credentials, and career development opportunities readily applicable in today’s workplace.

At the conclusion of the session, Dr. Liew Huey Min, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Economics at HELP University, expressed great interest in the broad scope of Oracle’s educational resources—including both IT and business-focused curricula—and indicated a desire to explore further adoption of these programs at HELP University.

Mr. Raymond Han, Senior Principal Assistant Director of the Industry Relations Division at the Ministry of Higher Education(MoHE), also commended the contributions made by Oracle Academy together with MDEC to the advancement of higher education in Malaysia, and expressed a strong interest in pursuing collaborative opportunities with the MoHE going forward.
