Oracle Academy holds Faculty Day across Ghana on the sidelines of eLearning Africa International Conference and Exhibition 2026

Oracle Academy hosted a Faculty Day for students and educators in Accra, Ghana, on June 2, 2026, as part of activities leading up to Oracle Academy’s participation at eLearning Africa International Conference and Exhibition 2026.

With over 200 participants in attendance, the event was a success, with top management members of the Faculty of Computing from University of Ghana and Accra Technical University attending and eager to know more about how Oracle Academy resources can supplement their teaching and student learning experiences.

Themed ‘Leveraging Oracle Cloud and Oracle APEX for Enhanced Teaching and Learning’, the sessions gave participants the opportunity to better understand the Oracle Academy program offering and the skills gap it is bridging in the information technology sector.

Danny Gooris, Regional Director, Oracle Academy EMEA & JAPAC, introduced Oracle Academy teaching and learning resources, providing participants with a brief description of Oracle APEX, Oracle Cloud through Oracle Academy, and Oracle Academy database and Java curriculum. 

Afterwards, Richmond Asamoah, an Oracle APEX and Digital Transformation consultant, facilitated a training session, in which he showed participants Oracle Academy resources with a practical session on Oracle Cloud and Oracle APEX through the Oracle Academy Member Hub teaching and learning platform.

A special highlight of the visit was the presentation of certificates and prizes to the outstanding young women who participated in the All-Female Oracle Hackathon, sponsored by Oracle Academy during the StudentPreneur Innovation Festival 2026.

It was a fun day of learning and insights for everyone involved, as participants left the event better equipped to teach using Oracle Academy technology education resources.

Bekere Amassoma, Oracle Academy Program Manager, Sub Saharan Africa, gave the closing remarks on behalf of Oracle Academy, and reiterated Oracle’s continuous commitment to providing quality technology education resources for FREE.
