Educators, industry professionals, and Oracle experts recently gathered at Makerere University for Oracle Academy Faculty Day Uganda, an engaging workshop exploring the growing impact of cloud computing and artificial intelligence in higher education.
Held under the theme “Future-Ready Teaching Starts Here: Cloud and AI,” the event created a collaborative platform for participants to discuss how emerging technologies are shaping teaching, learning and research across universities and institutions in Uganda.
The workshop brought together faculty members interested in strengthening digital skills development and exploring practical approaches to integrating cloud and AI technologies into the classroom. Throughout the day, discussions focused on curriculum integration and preparing students for an increasingly digital and AI-driven workforce.
The workshop also featured an extensive technical training session on leveraging cloud and AI for higher education research. The session provided practical insights into cloud technologies, research applications, and the growing role of AI in supporting innovation and problem-solving across academia and industry.
