Strathmore University School of Humanities & Social Sciences, through its Career Development Services Office, successfully hosted a vibrant career fair and networking day at the Keri Campus, Strathmore University, on August 8, 2025. The event brought together industry leaders, employers, educators, and students from the Bachelor of Arts programs in Communications, International Studies, and Development Studies for a day of learning, connection, and inspiration.

The career fair provided students and attendees with valuable insights into diverse career paths, internship opportunities, and employment options. The active participation and engagement of the invited professionals greatly enriched the conversations, offering real-world perspectives on the evolving job market and the skills needed to thrive.

The networking session gave students the rare opportunity to hear directly from employers about the changing landscapes within their sectors and the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and personal branding. Industry representatives shared practical strategies to help students prepare for the world of work based on current and emerging trends.

Oracle representatives highlighted exciting opportunities for graduates without a traditional technology background through the Generation Oracle (GenO) program. They emphasized that regardless of one’s academic path, Oracle’s inclusive, growth-focused culture was designed to help individuals explore, innovate, and excel. Students learned how the program offered a full year of immersive training, hands-on projects, and exposure to cutting-edge technologies, encouraging them to challenge the status quo, develop creative solutions, and make a tangible impact.

Participants also learned about Oracle Academy, Oracle’s global, philanthropic educational program that advances technology education around the world to increase knowledge, innovation, inclusion, and skills development. By working globally with educators at top universities and colleges, technical schools, and secondary schools, the program helps students increase their knowledge and attain hands-on practice in digital skills that help launch them toward fulfilling careers.

Participants also learned of the Oracle University Race to Certification 2025, an initiative running through October 31. This program encourages graduates to accelerate their learning journeys with free digital training and professional certifications in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Multicloud, and Oracle Data Platform.
