Oracle Academy was pleased to host its highly anticipated Francophone Educators Bootcamp for higher education faculty from French-speaking Sub-Saharan Africa countries on October 23, 2025. The virtual event brought together educators eager to elevate their teaching with Oracle’s world-class technologies and resources, centered around the theme, “Enhancing Online Teaching with Oracle Cloud & Oracle APEX.”
The bootcamp aimed to provide tertiary educators with the latest knowledge and hands-on experience in Oracle Cloud and Oracle APEX, ensuring alignment with industry demands and preparing future-ready graduates. Throughout the half-day session, participants immersed themselves in presentations, virtual labs, and resource showcases, strengthening their ability to integrate cloud computing and application development into their curricula.
The event agenda featured a strong lineup of Oracle leaders and technical experts:
- Moderator: Julius Attipoe, SDR EMEA Apps, Oracle Global Industries, set the tone, welcoming educators, and outlining the bootcamp’s objectives.
- Keynote: Annick Sakho, Director, Government Affairs, Africa, Oracle, delivered inspiring opening remarks, highlighting Oracle’s commitment to empowering African educators.
- Oracle Academy Introduction: Danny Gooris, Regional Director, Oracle Academy, EMEA, provided an overview of Oracle Academy’s offerings in the region.
- Oracle AI & Cloud Presentation and Virtual Labs: Baufabiol Kouassi, Senior Account Cloud Engineer, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, led the first training session, guiding educators through Oracle’s AI and cloud solutions with practical, hands-on labs.
- Oracle APEX Training and Virtual Labs: Nilesh Jankee, Master Principal Account Cloud Engineer, conducted an in-depth session on Oracle APEX, demonstrating real-world application development in a low-code environment.
- Teaching Resources Showcase: Guy Edaba, Instructor, Oracle Academy, presented the latest Oracle Academy teaching resources, spanning AI, cloud, and Oracle APEX tools.
- Q&A & Closing: Bekere Amassoma, Oracle Academy Program Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa, wrapped up the event with an engaging question-and-answer session and closing remarks.
Feedback from participants reinforced the event’s impact. Educators praised the balance of theory and practice, with many committing to bring the new knowledge and tools into their classrooms. The opportunity to interact with Oracle experts and fellow educators also fostered a valuable exchange of ideas and best practices.
