Oracle Academy was invited to be part of the annual ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) India Chapter Summit 2025 in Indore, India, on December 19-20, 2025. This flagship event gathered all the ACM chapters from across India, serving as a platform for the ACM community to share knowledge, exchange perspectives, and spark new collaborations in the field of computing. Oracle Academy was a Silver Tier sponsor, and we were privileged to meet with faculty members from across the country and enable the institutions that they represent to join and be part of the Oracle Academy program.

Anuradha Sharma, Head of Oracle Academy, South Asia, had the opportunity to address the gathering of nearly 40 faculty members and students from 30 academic institutions. They attended an orientation about Oracle Academy resources and how faculty can share them with students for learning. Anuradha emphasized how Oracle Academy curriculum helps prepare students for careers with technology and industry-relevant skills.

Prior to the event, the respective program managers reached out to the participating faculty members and shared an introduction to Oracle Academy along with the website link. This exercise proved to be very impactful, as it made it easy to continue engagement with faculty members during the event.

Bridging academia and industry

A one-hour breakout session was initiated by Neema MM, Oracle Academy Program Manager, to orient educators on how to become a member, the benefits of membership, orientation to curriculum and teaching resources, and more. The faculty members were very excited to learn about the program and how they can start utilizing the free teaching resources.

One of the most engaging segments of the session was the introduction of longtime Oracle Academy member, Dr. Zainab Mirza, MH Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Mumbai. She delivered a presentation highlighting how her institution has been utilizing Oracle Academy resources, including curriculum, Oracle APEX, and cloud accounts through the Oracle Academy Cloud Program. She discussed the positive impact on students and how other colleges can adopt these resources by following best practices. The session was highly insightful, and we extend our sincere thanks to her for sharing her valuable experience.

The session culminated with educators posing questions and exchanging valuable ideas, as well as additional information from the Oracle Academy team. Anuradha Sharma thanked all participants at the conclusion of the program and reinforced Oracle Academy’s continued commitment to empowering educators and their students.

We look forward to more such events with ACM. The highlight of the event for staff was seeing multiple faculty members from various backgrounds and locations joining together under one roof. It served as an excellent platform for networking and meaningful collaboration. Several institutions and faculty have started the process to join Oracle Academy since the event, and we look forward to reaching out to the educators to support them with teaching resources.
