Oracle Academy member Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (UKIM) is North Macedonia’s first state university, established in 1949. It has grown into a broad public university community of 23 faculties and five scientific institutes, with a mission that combines academic excellence, applied research, lifelong learning, inclusion, and alignment with European standards.
The Department of E-business’ 16th International Summer School, “AI in Action: Rethinking Enterprise,” took place September 21–25, 2026, at the Faculty of Economics in Skopje. It was an in-person, free five-day bootcamp focused on practical business uses of AI, with expert sessions, workshops, mentoring, lunch, and networking
Rather than a conventional lecture series, the event was a practical AI bootcamp: participants explored how generative AI can be applied to enterprise and business-development problems, working with tools and case studies, and receiving mentoring from academic and industry experts.
The event was hosted by UKIM’s Faculty of Economics–Skopje, located at 9V Goce Delchev Boulevard. The Faculty is one of the University’s core social-science institutions and provides the setting for the E-business community’s work on digital transformation, business innovation, and technology-enabled decision-making.
Supported by Oracle Academy, Alexandra Ntetsika, Senior Consultant, Oracle Greece Data Analytics and AI Team, participated in the event as a speaker. She presented practical AI use cases implemented by Oracle, showcasing how AI can address real business needs, improve decision-making, automate processes, and create measurable value across different industries. Alexandra was delighted to engage with the students and see their interest in the possibilities that AI can offer.
The program also deliberately included ethical, legal, and strategic questions, with an emphasis on responsible AI adoption as well as technical opportunity.
Wednesday focused on understanding generative AI — its concepts, available tools, and ethical implications — and then the program moved into mentoring. Thursday brought that learning into practice through Oracle data analytics and AI use cases, an EU-focused discussion of AI ethics and law, and a hands-on workshop on using generative-AI tools to strengthen creativity and productivity. Together, the sessions connected AI literacy with real organizational application, governance, and professional skills.
