Educators from around the world came together for the inaugural Oracle Academy Summit 2026, a three-day virtual event focused on the technologies, skills, and teaching approaches shaping the future of education.
Held online from June 16–18, the Summit brought together Oracle Academy leaders, Oracle specialists, educators, industry professionals, and Oracle Academy alumni to explore topics including Cloud & AI, Database, Java, Oracle APEX, Oracle NetSuite, Primavera, and future-ready talent.
The event opened with The Future of IT Education is Bright, featuring William McCabe, Vice President, Oracle Academy. The session highlighted Oracle Academy’s commitment to supporting educators with free teaching resources, curriculum, cloud access opportunities, and learning experiences designed to help students develop in-demand technology skills.
Oracle Country Leaders from various countries showed how they value Oracle Academy and the work of all educators, teaching their students and building the so-needed IT workforce of the future.
A key feature of the Summit was the combination of Oracle specialist presentations and faculty case studies. Across the three days, attendees heard directly from Oracle experts while also learning how fellow educators are using Oracle Academy resources and technologies in their teaching. These practical examples provided valuable insights into curriculum integration, classroom experiences, and approaches for helping students build career-relevant skills.
Sessions throughout the summit explored some of the most important topics facing educators today. Discussions around artificial intelligence and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure generated significant interest, reflecting the growing importance of these areas within education and industry. At the same time, sessions focused on Database, Java, Oracle APEX, Oracle NetSuite, and Primavera reinforced the importance of foundational technical skills, practical application, and project-based learning.
The summit also highlighted the value of connecting education with industry. The closing panel discussion, From Classroom to Career: Building Future-Ready Talent, brought together perspectives from academia, industry, and Oracle Academy alumni to explore how educators can help students develop the skills, confidence, and experiences needed to succeed in an evolving workforce.
Throughout the event, educators had the opportunity to engage with presenters, ask questions, and share experiences with peers from different institutions and regions. The discussions demonstrated a shared commitment to preparing students for future opportunities through innovative teaching practices, industry-aligned learning, and accessible technology education.
