Oracle Academy was pleased to participate in the webinar, “Oracle Opportunities in Tech & Education: Building Global Career Pathways,” hosted by StrategEast and BTU Business and Technology University, Georgia, on June 3, 2026.

The webinar brought together university faculty members and students from Georgia to explore how education, technology skills, certifications, and industry collaboration can help prepare learners for successful careers in the digital economy. The event provided a valuable forum for discussing the growing importance of future-ready skills and the role that higher education institutions play in developing the next generation of technology professionals.

Representing Oracle were Orlaith Lawton, Senior Marketing Manager, Oracle Academy EMEA, and Valérie Hayotte, Senior Director EMEA Skills Development, CSS Oracle University Cloud Services. They joined Alexander Yazepchik of StrategEast and Prof. Lika Merabishvili to discuss global opportunities available to students and educators through Oracle’s education and skills development initiatives.

During the session, attendees learned more about free Oracle Academy resources for teaching and learning available through the Oracle Academy Member Hub, including the Career Center which helps students explore career pathways, understand in-demand technology roles, and identify opportunities to build skills that align with employer needs. Participants also learned about the new Oracle Red Bull Racing Oracle Academy Education Bytes, which connect classroom learning with real-world innovation and computing skills.  Students progress from Java game development to database-backed applications and cloud telemetry dashboards, gaining hands-on experience with the technologies behind modern data-driven performance.

The discussion highlighted the importance of collaboration between universities and industry in addressing technology skills gaps and supporting workforce development. As demand for expertise in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data management, and digital transformation continues to grow, partnerships between education providers and technology organizations are becoming increasingly important.

Oracle Academy remains committed to helping educators deliver industry-relevant learning experiences through curriculum, technology resources, and professional development opportunities. By providing access to educational content and career-focused resources, Oracle Academy supports institutions in preparing students for future academic and professional success.

Oracle Academy thanks StrategEast and BTU Business and Technology University for hosting this engaging event and for their ongoing commitment to supporting digital skills development and technology education across the region.
