In recent years, our relationship with the digital world has changed profoundly. We live immersed in an ecosystem made up of speed, short content, constant notifications, and a continuous flow of stimuli. Information has exploded in quantity, but this does not automatically translate into understanding or awareness. On the contrary: the more content that is available, the more difficult it is to orient oneself or to select what really matters. Online communication favors quick consumption at the expense of reflection.

An Oracle Academy project, “Reboot Culture,” based in Italy, looks at rebuilding knowledge in the digital future. It is a project for Oracle Academy member institution high school students, who are invited to design a cultural platform using technology. The goal is not to create a simple digital product, but to guide young people to question the meaning of culture today and the possibilities, risks, and responsibilities related to technological innovation.

The heart of the project is the creation of a cultural social network, a platform developed with Oracle APEX, designed to host valuable content in the fields of art, science, technology, music, literature, the environment, and current affairs. The goal is to transform cultural enjoyment into an active and participatory experience. Students work to imagine formats that combine speed and depth, micro-content that stimulates reflection and dialogue, thematic paths that accompany the user in discovery.

An important component of the project is the integration of artificial intelligence, not as a substitute for human thought, but as an assistant that amplifies learning possibilities. Students explore different uses of AI: personalized suggestions, summary generation, connections between themes, moderation of discussions, creative support.

In the initial phase, each group develops an original concept of the platform. This is followed by the technical phase, during which participants learn how to use Oracle APEX to build databases, set up interactive pages, and prototype functions.

The program is divided into six stages. The kickoff occurred on November 26, 2025, followed by two technical meetings on Oracle APEX upcoming on January 29 and March 26, 2026. Then two in-depth webinars will be held in preparation for the final pitch on May 21, 2026.

Oracle Academy resources help Italian students to reinvent culture through technology using Oracle APEX

Participants develop both technical skills and fundamental soft skills: design skills, problem solving, collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical spirit. But above all, they experience culture as a collective good, as an element that enriches life and that can find in digital technology an ally rather than an obstacle.

The Oracle Academy program provides resources that include Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle APEX, Oracle NetSuite, Oracle Primavera, a wide range of software, career pathways, and ongoing educator training opportunities, often recognized with continuing professional development credits.

Teachers, through the Oracle Academy Member Hub platform, can easily access materials, Oracle instructor support, training events, and consulting sessions.
