To mark the 2023 International Day of Education, themed ‘To invest in people, prioritize education’, Oracle Academy partnered with Pyramid Educational Advancement (PEA) Foundation to host a mentorship session at the Oracle Nigeria office in Lagos, Nigeria, on January 24, 2023.
PEA Foundation is on a mission to inspire and facilitate the pursuit of academic excellence by creating platforms for young people to engage their minds and display their intellectual prowess, thereby building a lifetime capacity for flexible, analytical thinking and purposeful leadership.
Across low-income communities in Lagos, 30 students from six schools under the PEA Foundation program had the opportunity to visit the Oracle office and learn from the Oracle team and other mentors. The program aims to increase the engagement of all students, including the under-represented, by providing educators with teaching and learning resources that make technology engaging and accessible.
Mr. Adedapo Conde, Executive Director, PEA Foundation, expressed gratitude to Oracle Academy, saying, “Many young people from vulnerable backgrounds are dropping out of school due to various factors including poverty and harmful ideologies. Thanks to Oracle Academy for partnering with us to celebrate the International Day of Education.
