Oracle Academy sponsored and participated in the Nigeria Association of Computing Students (NACOS) National Convention, July 23 – 25, 2024, themed Celebrating 30 Years of Excellence: Driving Innovation and Shaping the Future of Technology. The conference featured inspiring keynote sessions, innovative showcases, workshops, networking opportunities and an award night. NACOS is the umbrella body for students studying computer science, computer engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, and all IT-related courses in Nigeria.
Oracle Academy Program Manager, SSA, Bekere Amassoma, joined the event as a speaker. In her presentation titled, The Role of Innovation in Shaping the Future of Technology, she discussed the concepts and principles of innovation, the current state of technology and innovation in Nigeria, how to foster a culture of innovation among undergraduates, practical strategies for implementing innovative solutions, the future of technology, and the necessity of innovation in Nigeria. She thereafter presented the Oracle Academy free program benefits and the Oracle Academy Cloud Program: an always-free cloud offering that is available to students.
Thereafter, Oracle Academy was awarded the ‘Champion for Technology Advancement Award’. The award celebrates Oracle Academy’s efforts in fostering digital literacy, empowering students and young professionals with relevant tech skills.
