In a strategic collaboration agreement, Oracle Academy and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Kenya have come together to advance technology and project management education across Kenya. This collaboration aims to equip IEEE Kenya student members with the skills, resources, and certifications needed to excel in technology fields, with a special emphasis on Oracle Primavera, the industry-leading project management software used in construction and engineering.

Under this partnership, Oracle Academy will provide access to its comprehensive educational resources, including the Oracle Academy Primavera Project Management Curriculum, which is designed to help students and professionals master project management principles and tools used widely across the global industry.

Primavera P6, Oracle’s gold-standard project management solution, will play a pivotal role in educating students to manage complex projects efficiently, from planning to execution. This software is widely used in fields such as engineering, construction, and manufacturing. Through hands-on curriculum and workshops, students will gain practical experience in using Primavera for real-world project management scenarios, preparing them for critical roles in the workforce.

“This partnership with Oracle opens up new opportunities for IEEE student members in Kenya to access top-tier computer science and project management education. The IEEE Kenya section has done a marvelous job in pioneering this collaboration with Oracle. Seeing the value that the learning material and tools can bring to our members, we would be interested in exploring this collaboration on a global scale,” said Tom Coughlin, IEEE President & CEO. “By incorporating Oracle Primavera, we are giving future project managers and engineers the skills they need to thrive in key sectors such as construction and engineering.”

In addition to Oracle Primavera, the partnership will help educators teach in other key areas such as cloud computing, database management, Java programming, and data science. Student members also will have the opportunity to earn globally recognized Oracle certifications, including those in cloud computing, significantly enhancing their employability.

“This timely collaboration bridges the gap between students and industry technology, bringing real-world tools into the classroom. By connecting education with industry needs, we are equipping the next generation to lead and thrive in technology fields,” said David Bunei, Oracle Kenya Country Director. “We are excited to partner with IEEE Kenya to bring Oracle Primavera and other Oracle cutting-edge technologies such as Oracle Cloud and Oracle APEX to their student congress. This collaboration will provide the learners with practical skills, critical in today’s industries.”

This collaboration highlights Oracle Academy’s commitment to supporting technology education, and in addition demonstrates IEEE Kenya as a key player in advancing professional skills development in Kenya’s growing economy. By focusing on both tech skills through Oracle Cloud and Oracle APEX, and project management proficiency through Oracle Primavera, this alliance aims to nurture the next generation of professionals who can design, lead and manage complex projects successfully.

“By leveraging Oracle Academy’s resources, IEEE Kenya can equip their tech and engineering students with the tools to upskill and solve complex problems. This initiative not only enhances their learning experience but also prepares them with the technical skills aligned with industry tools needed to thrive in today’s workforce,” says Danny Gooris, Senior Regional Director, Oracle Academy, EMEA.
