In the newest episode of Oracle Academy Tech Chat podcast season three, host Tyra Crockett Peirce, Oracle Academy Senior Manager, North America, speaks with Oracle researcher Wei Jiang about the privacy implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI). To start off, Wei and Tyra speak about Wei’s background as a former computer science professor within the University of Missouri system, and now as a research scientist at Oracle labs.
Wei and Tyra chat about some of the biggest impacts AI has on privacy, including access to data, fake images or news, and more intelligent ransomware and spam. They discuss how some inferences that AI makes, using data, also can open up people to different lines of attack, as data is used in new and sometimes unintended ways. They also discuss the pros and cons of some of the methods used to fight these attacks.
This episode closes with Wei giving advice to educators and students specific to AI privacy.
