On January 10, 2025, in conjunction with the Hong Kong Association for Computer Education (HKACE), more than 80 educators attended a workshop at City University of Hong Kong entitled “ICT Curriculum Elective Module A – RAG Application using SQL in Oracle Database 23ai and SQL from theory to practice.” The workshop aimed to prepare attendees for teaching ICT Curriculum Elective Module A – Databases.

Mr. Glenn Wong, Oracle Principal Solutions Engineer, gave a keynote speech and shared information about RAG Application using SQL in Oracle Database 23ai. Oracle Database 23ai includes several features to support AI application development, including AI Vector Search, broad LLM and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) support, popular third-party technologies, and more.

Additionally, leaders from two schools and a curriculum development officer (HKEDB Technology Education) were invited to share their practical experience in teaching databases in the Diploma of Secondary Education Examination ICT curriculum. Participants engaged in discussions with their peers and experts, demonstrating how to use the tools to solve problems in teaching. The workshop assisted participants in curriculum planning and using various tools and/or services to teach databases.
