Oracle Academy was proud to support the Annual Conference of the Indonesian Association of Informatics and Computer Science Colleges (APTIKOM), held in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia.

APTIKOM, a valued Oracle Academy partner since 2016, is a national association representing higher education institutions with computer science and informatics programs in Indonesia. The organization is dedicated to enhancing the quality of education, research, and community service in the field of information technology. APTIKOM also fosters collaboration among educational institutions, industry, and government, and plays a key role in the development of curricula, educational standards, and professional IT certifications across the country.

With the theme “Accelerating Research and Education in AI to Enhance National Competitiveness Towards Indonesia’s Golden Year 2045,” the APTIKOM National Coordination Meeting (RAKORNAS) 2024 highlighted the strategic role of artificial intelligence (AI) and technological innovation in driving Indonesia’s digital transformation. The event was attended by hundreds of participants, including representatives from higher education institutions across Indonesia, as well as government officials.

Nurul Huda, Oracle Academy Manager for Southeast Asia, was one of the keynote speakers at the event, alongside Maxy Academy and representatives from global technology leaders such as AMD and AWS. In her presentation, Nurul emphasized the vital importance of collaboration between industry and academia to prepare students with the skills needed to thrive in the modern workforce. She discussed how aligning academic curricula with industry demands, providing hands-on learning experiences, and enhancing faculty capabilities are key to ensuring graduates are workforce-ready. Nurul also highlighted Oracle Academy’s modular, engaging curriculum, which integrates hands-on practice with career-relevant technologies. These resources empower students to build foundational and advanced skills that prepare them for further education or entry into the tech industry.

APTIKOM Secretary General Dr. Husni Teja Sukmana highlighted the significance of the event, stating: “This conference serves as a vital platform for academic leaders, government officials, and industry stakeholders to collaborate on shaping the future of informatics and computer science education in Indonesia.”

The event successfully brought together a diverse range of participants, creating a strong foundation for future initiatives aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s digital capabilities and global competitiveness.
