Teachers and students in Indonesia explored cloud technology through the Oracle Academy Cloud Program as a catalyst for career readiness in the digital economy at a virtual event that attracted more than 445 participants from vocational high school (SMK) levels from across Indonesia — including Sumatera, Riau, Sulawesi, Java, and Bali. Several schools streamed the webinar, creating shared learning spaces where entire classes joined together in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and curiosity.
Opening the session, Nurul Huda, Oracle Academy Manager for Southeast Asia, described cloud as “a gateway to the careers of tomorrow.” She introduced the Oracle Academy Cloud Program, which offers free access to Oracle Cloud Free Tier services such as Oracle Autonomous Database, Compute Virtual Machines, and object storage. She encouraged students to start building cloud skills early using Oracle Academy’s curriculum and guided learning paths, noting that early exposure gives graduates a decisive edge in the job market.
Providing an educator’s perspective, Cahyadi, a teacher at SMKN 4 Padalarang and long-time Oracle Academy educator, urged teachers to integrate cloud concepts into their lessons. He highlighted the Academy’s ready-to-use curriculum, hands-on labs, and educational resources that make classroom adoption seamless. Demonstrating practical approaches, he showed how students can build applications with Oracle APEX and manage data with Oracle Autonomous Database, emphasizing, “The earlier you start experimenting with cloud tools, the more confident you’ll be when you step into the industry.”
From the industry side, Garibaldi, Solution Engineering Team Lead at Oracle Indonesia, emphasized the real-world impact of cloud skills. He showcased how Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) supports sectors ranging from finance and manufacturing to education and public services, underscoring its scalability, security, and performance. He also highlighted the growing career opportunities in the cloud — from architects and data engineers to developers and AI specialists — noting, “The cloud is no longer optional; it’s the foundation for innovation in every sector.”
This initiative exemplifies Oracle Academy’s commitment to bridging academic learning with industry practice, equipping students with the skills, tools, and insights necessary to thrive in a technology-driven economy. As cloud adoption accelerates across Indonesia, the message was clear: the skills developed in today’s classrooms are shaping tomorrow’s innovators, ensuring the next generation is ready to thrive in a digital-first economy.
