Introduction
Oracle TimesTen 18.1 Classic can be used as either a database ‘system of record’ or as a read/write cache for an Oracle Database. Oracle TimesTen 18.1 Scaleout is a database ‘system of record’ that has a shared nothing, scale-out architecture.
Oracle TimesTen 18.1 Classic is currently available on Linux and IBM AIX.
Linux
Oracle TimesTen Classic 18.1 Classic is supported on the following platforms:
- Oracle Linux 6 and 7
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7
- SUSE Enterprise Server 12
Oracle TimesTen Classic 18.1 also appears to work on these un-supported platforms:
- CentOS 6 and 7
- MontaVista CGX 2.2
- Ubuntu 14.04, 16.04 and 18.04
IBM AIX
Oracle TimesTen Classic 18.1 is supported on IBM AIX:
- AIX 7.1
Older platforms

The prior version of TimesTen 11.2.2.8.x also supports these platforms:
- Oracle Solaris (Sparc) 10, 11 and 11.2
- Oracle Solaris (x86) 10, 11 and 11.2
- HP-UX 11i Itanium 11.31
- IBM AIX 6.1 and 7.1
