Oracle Database 19c contains far more innovative features and world-class capability than any other enterprise database on the market today. With such a capable product set, you really don’t want to miss some truly incredible features and technologies which may not have yet caught your eye.
At Oracle Database World we will showcase hands-on workshops, supported by Oracle’s finest experts, which will walk you through some of the innovations Oracle is making in this area – and you can learn for yourself how to raise the bar for how your enterprise makes best use of data to see into the future.
Some of the Oracle Database 19c-focused hands-on workshops that will be showcased at Oracle Database World are:
- Hitchhiker’s Guide for Upgrading to Oracle Database 19c
Are you ready to upgrade to Oracle Database 19c? In this workshop, we demystify how best to upgrade your database including how to plan, prepare and perform the upgrade.
- Pluggables, Clones, and Containers: Oracle Multitenant Fundamentals
To an application, an Oracle Database Multitenant Pluggable Database (PDB’s) is the database, in which applications run unchanged. Oracle pluggable databases can be rapidly provisioned, and a pluggable database is a portable database, which makes it very easy to move around, perhaps for load balancing or migration to the Cloud. In this workshop, we will go through how to set up, clone, plug and unplug PDBs, showing you first-hand how easy PDBs make load-balancing and migration to the Cloud.
- Boost Analytics Performance with Oracle Database In-Memory
Oracle Database In-Memory provides a unique architecture that enables tables to be simultaneously represented in memory using traditional row format and a new in-memory column format. This workshop you will get hand-on experience of the features that make Database In-Memory so fast.
- New Features in Oracle Database 19c
If you’re thinking about upgrading to Oracle Database 19c, here’s your chance to try out a few of its exciting new features. You will learn how to clone a remote PDB by using DBCA in silent mode, speed up the import and export time for transportable tablespaces, and use Recovery Manager to connect to a PDB and the recovery catalog at the same time to back up the PDB. You will also learn about column encryption and explore flashback logs.
- Developing with JSON and SODA in Oracle Database
The converged (multi-model) database allows you to store, process and generate JSON data. This workshop will show you how to use JSON for application development, and how to move seamlessly between a JSON document model and a SQL relational model of the same data, without having to move or convert that data.
- Oracle Sharding: Hyperscale Globally Distributed Database
Sharding distributes segments of a data stored in an Oracle Database set across many databases (shards) on different computers, on-premises or in multiple clouds. In this workshop you will build an application with Oracle Sharding, explore its topology and single and multi-shard queries, and learn how to achieve scale and geographic distribution.
Come and learn about Oracle’s latest innovations, try hands-on workshops, and interact with Oracle experts to get best-practice tips and answers to your questions.
