In FY24, Oracle Volunteers worldwide united under one common goal: do well by doing good. It’s a positive feedback loop. Oracle employees who volunteer not only make things better in the world, they also report feeling a greater sense of connection and belonging at work.

Watch the video below to see Oracle Volunteers in action and keep reading for behind-the-scenes details about their impact.

  • United States: In Austin, Texas, Oracle Volunteers nourish their fellow community members through work with Oracle grantees. It’s a poignant reality that one in four children across Central Texas are at risk of hunger. So, Oracle Volunteers teamed up with Central Texas Food Bank to prepare meals for 46,000 in need, many of whom visit the food bank every week. At Urban Roots, Oracle Volunteers helped plant, cultivate, and harvest fresh produce for donation. Last year alone, nearly 89,000 servings of produce were provided to those experiencing food insecurity.

  • India:  In Bangalore, Oracle Volunteers advance science education for girls in rural areas by introducing them to real-life examples of women in STEAM careers and engaging them in hands-on activities. In collaboration with Bodhi Tree Foundation, volunteers showed students how more than 100 women scientists and engineers contributed to the Indian Space Research Organization’s successful lunar mission. Next, Oracle Volunteers led activities that taught astronomy and aerodynamics, including glider and parachute design—further stoking girls’ interest in STEAM.

  • Brazil: In São Paulo, Oracle grantee Casa do Zezinho’s mission is to open doors for low-income children and youth, guaranteeing their education and nutrition, and creating the conditions for them to learn, dream, and pursue their life goals. On Children’s Day, scores of Oracle Volunteers helped the organization deliver activities for more than 700 children—including games, crafts, collage work, face-painting—as well as a sense of connection to caring, reliable adults.

Though the challenges in our global society are big, our collective action can amount to something even bigger: a ripple effect of kindness and connection that creates positive change. We know this effect will continue into FY25, and with the addition of Health as a new focus area, there are even more ways to make a positive impact.

Thank you, Oracle Volunteers, for all you did in FY24. Let’s accomplish even more this year!
