As Oracle rolls out the Redwood user experience across the whole portfolio of applications; we have taken the first step to align the default Siebel CRM user experience with Oracle’s next generation Redwood user experience. We are thrilled to announce that a new Redwood UX for Siebel CRM is now in Beta development.

One of the key differentiators and benefits of partnering with Oracle is that along with Siebel CRM we have a complete suite of front and back office applications, database and platform services. Combining these solutions across the stack brings considerable benefits, especially at enterprise scale. Therefore, it is typical for Siebel CRM customers to have more than one Oracle solution, which can cross different parts of an organization. Adopting Redwood UX for Siebel CRM will unify the user experience across Oracle’s portfolio of enterprise technology products. No matter which Oracle application, users will be able to recognize and interact in a uniform way. This will improve adoption and reduce the need for application user training.

A sneak peek into the Redwood UX for Siebel CRM:

The new Redwood UX for Siebel CRM will use our Open UI framework as a foundation. Redwood will be an additional Open UI theme and available as an opt-in feature with no forced migrations. The theme is more than just aesthetics, it is not just a new skin. Our goal is to improve the usability for the Siebel CRM application alignging to the design philosophy of the Redwood user experience. Our customers will benefit from the improved interaction designs and usability enhancements. For example, the introduction of “Find and Filter” to narrow down a criteria from Level 2, Level 3, Level 4 menus will allow customers to find data more efficiently.

More new features include:

  • Ask Oracle: New Home and Global Navigation Experience: One of the most important features of the Redwood theme is “Ask Oracle”. This is an application home and global navigation experience that allows users to access Navigation, Notifications, Search—all in one place. Furthermore, it will be possible to search for Screens, access Tools available from List view, navigate through Level 1, Level 2 views and receive Desktop Alerts / Toast Notifications
  • New Styles, Colors, Icons, and Fonts: In line with Oracle Redwood styling, a new style sheet, neutral colors, sleek icons, and contemporary fonts. Fonts and colors are chosen to reflect the new color schemes introduced across Oracle’s portfolio and are designed to reduce eyestrain. Bigger icons and less clutter makes it easier to navigate the UI
  • Restyled Homepage, Screens and Views: The application Homepage has been fully re-designed with a simplified header, fewer elements and cleaner designs. The un-cluttered layout comes with larger buttons, menus, emphasizing a less dense look and opens up space between page elements. The Application Toolbar and Menu Toolbar appear together as a single Toolbar to be both user-friendly and consistent with other products in Oracle’s portfolio

Oracle has built their Redwood user experience with a clear goal in mind “bringing state-of-the-art, consumer grade user experiences across devices to the sophisticated enterprise scenarios that Oracle enables”
