Siebel Intelligent Search helps users quickly find relevant information across Siebel business data and enterprise content. Powered by OpenSearch, it provides a modern search experience with capabilities such as keyword, semantic, structured, and document search.

As customers continue to expand their use of OpenSearch and adopt newer platform versions, keeping Siebel Intelligent Search aligned with the latest OpenSearch releases becomes increasingly important. Siebel CRM 26.9 Release Update follows this pattern with expanded deployment flexibility through support for OpenSearch 3.2.0.

More Flexibility with OpenSearch 3.2

Siebel Intelligent Search was first delivered with support for OpenSearch 2.15.0 and current supported versions are:

  • OpenSearch 2.15.0 — supported with Siebel 25.10 and later
  • OpenSearch 3.2.0 — supported with Siebel 26.9 and later

Existing customers using OpenSearch 2.15.0 can continue with their current deployments, while customers planning new environments or upgrades can adopt OpenSearch 3.2.0. This gives customers greater flexibility to align Intelligent Search with their OpenSearch deployment strategy without requiring existing OpenSearch 2.15.0 environments to move immediately to the newer version.

Note: the OpenSearch version specified in the Siebel modernsearchconfig.yaml file must exactly match the OpenSearch version installed in the environment.

Why OpenSearch 3.2?

OpenSearch 3.2 continues to advance the platform’s search, vector, and AI capabilities, with improvements focused on search performance, scalability, and vector search quality. Enhancements include more efficient query processing for large datasets and improvements to vector search that can help support increasingly demanding semantic search and AI workloads.

Faster Setup with Updated OpenSearch Auto-Install Scripts

Along with OpenSearch 3.2 support, we have also updated the OpenSearch Auto-Install Scripts to support OpenSearch 3.2.0.

These scripts automate key OpenSearch installation and configuration steps, helping customers reduce manual setup effort and create more consistent environments. This can be especially useful when setting up evaluation, POC, development, or test environments for Siebel Intelligent Search.

The updated OpenSearch Auto-Install Scripts are available through an update (Patch ID: 39116180). To request access, log a Service Request with Oracle Siebel Support and request the update.

Supported Versions

The OpenSearch auto-install scripts are not tied to a specific Siebel release. However, the OpenSearch version installed by the scripts must be supported by the corresponding Siebel release.

  • OpenSearch 2.15.0 — supported with Siebel 25.10 and later
  • OpenSearch 3.2.0 — supported with Siebel 26.9 and later
