Feature Overview

Expansions in Financial Reporting provide users the ability to display detail rows and columns of a grid when a report is run in HTML preview.  This is done by enabling the expansion of a parent member in the grid design, where an end user can click on an indicator next to the parent to display its children and their related data. For example, if you enable the “Entity” dimension members to expand, users can expand a row multiple levels deep to display hundreds or thousands of “Entity” dimension members.  If expansions are enabled in any grid rows or columns, you can enable users to expand or collapse all expansions in the grid via an “Expand All” property.
