Oracle Smart View for Office provides a common Microsoft Office interface for Oracle Cloud EPM, Essbase and other Oracle data providers. This session covered common issues and troubleshooting tools for Oracle Smart View. It also provided information on installation, extension, connection, performance issues and some troubleshooting tools such as Smart View Diagnostics, Health Checks and tools like Fiddler to resolve issues. Additional resources for self-managing your Smart View deployment was also discussed in the webinar.

- Oracle Smart View for Office (Windows) – this presentation covers only Oracle Smart View for Office (Windows).
- Oracle Smart View for Office (Mac and Browser)
Troubleshooting Tools:
- Smart View Diagnostic tools collects log files and screenshots which can be sent to Oracle Support.
- Diagnostic information will used by Oracle Support to troubleshoot the issue, provide a root cause analysis and to suggest solutions.
- To reduce time to resolve the issue, attach troubleshooting information to service request early when it’s created.
- To enable Diagnostic Tools – the Smart View Diagnostic Tools located in the Diagnostics group in the Smart View ribbon
- Go to: Smartview -> Options -> Logging:
- Check: Show Diagnostic Group on Smartview Ribbon
- Smart View Health Check
- A third-party tool like Fiddler Trace or Wireshark can be used to troubleshoot Smart View network issues.
