Starting with Tax Update 26-B in 2026, PeopleSoft Payroll for North America began using an “X” suffix for extended legislative deliverables in PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM). The same naming approach applies to future Tax Updates. Regular Tax Update deliverables and extended legislative deliverables appear under separate tag values.
Separate tags for regular and extended deliverables
For example Tax Update 26-B, PUM presents two separate choices:
- 26-B identifies the regular Tax Update deliverables.
- 26-BX identifies the extended legislative deliverables.
Each tag identifies a separate set of bugs and deliverables. The 26-BX tag does not include the deliverables tagged 26-B. The Tax Updates Search Value field shows one tag at a time. Customers who need both sets can search for 26-B, add the selected bugs, then search for 26-BX and add those bugs to the same change package definition.
The Tax Updates Search list in the image shows 26-B and 26-BX as separate values. Later pairs, such as 26-C and 26-CX, follow the same pattern.

What the X covers
Current examples of extended legislative deliverables include the Tax Withholding Updatable PDF, Fluid legislative changes for Paycheck Modeler, and related updates. Future X tags may identify additional features as new legislative enhancement deliverables become available.
Future Tax Updates follow the same approach. Search each relevant tag separately, then include the selected bugs in one change package definition when both sets of deliverables are needed.
