Oracle has rolled out a newly designed hub for the Customers, Partners, and Oracle Employees to interact through Oracle Communities to foster a strong two-way collaboration. The “My Oracle Support community (MOSC)” provides an open forum for all Oracle applications. Recently Oracle has enhanced the MOSC portal with the latest technology and improved user experience.

Why Join the My Oracle Support Community?

The My Oracle Support Community (MOSC) provides easy access to experts, peers and practitioners that inspire innovation, celebrate successes and empower collaboration. MOSC members can:

  • Share their ideas about Oracle and our products.
  • Interact with other members of the Oracle Community.
  • Network with members of the Oracle Community.
  • Ask and answer questions about Oracle product functionality.
  • Learn about Oracle and our products.
  • Share their knowledge and experience with the Oracle Community.

How do I become a member of Oracle communities?

If you are not currently a member you can register using this link:

 https://community.oracle.com/hub/

It just takes few minutes to become a member. By providing your details by completing the information requested on the Profile page, it allows other members to know who you are.  Rather than appearing as anonymous when you post, other registered users can see who you are, your company and even support your ideas on the Idea Space, or respond to your discussion questions. If you have data privacy concerns, MOSC takes great care to protect member’s Personal Information if shared inadvertently during their interactions within the Forum.

If you are already a member and haven’t visited MOSC recently then you would be surprised to see its new look!

MOSC hosts many Oracle products and it may take you a while to become familiar with the paths where products of interest to you may now be managed.

How do I contribute my Ideas in the MOSC?

An Idea is a type of My Oracle Support Community (MOSC) content that community members can create and vote on. Ideas work much like normal discussion threads. Ideas are voted up or down to reflect the user community sentiment.

MOSC is the most appropriate forum to enter your new Ideas for other customers to see and possibly support with a vote. It is also the area the PeopleSoft strategy team examines when preparing the Roadmap for their products. Ideas are a new mechanism for customers to submit Enhancement Requests (ERs) to Oracle.

I’m not familiar with this new website, so where do I enter my PeopleSoft Product Ideas?

If you’re a PeopleSoft customer, you should be visiting the PeopleSoft Ideas lab,

https://community.oracle.com/mosc/categories/peoplesoft-ideas-lab

PeopleSoft Ideas Lab has several subcategories for several of its products under different pillars such as FSCM/HCM/TECH/TOOLS. Choose the product link where you wish to submit your Ideas. We’ve broken down the categories to align with the most used modules in each pillar. In some instances, we’ve created categories based on functionality within the Pillar (take a look at the FSCM categories below).

How do I create an Idea?

The portal is quite intuitive, and one should be able to easily create an idea and navigate to do other activities. On the left panel there is the ‘New Idea’ button, just click and select the Category you wish to place the Idea (i.e. Expenses, Accounts Payable, etc.) fill in your information providing as much background, use cases, and detail as possible.

Select your Product Category and enter the Idea details.

You can attach files, paste pictures and graphs, etc., before you save them. Your idea is in!

What happens to my Idea?

Most importantly, you have shared your thoughts in the most appropriate and widely-referenced Forum. Good ideas do get other member’s interest, comments and support. Members add their weight to your idea by voting. The Oracle/PeopleSoft Product Strategy team continuously reviews new ideas being posted and updates existing ideas when they move to the Roadmap or when delivered in a PeopleSoft Update Image. Your idea could become part of our Roadmap for future enhancements in PeopleSoft products.

What else do I stand to gain as an active contributor to Peoplesoft Ideas Lab?

  • You could find several ideas contributed by the community which could provide a wealth of information based on other customer experiences and product use.
  • You can contribute more dimension and use case value to the ideas submitted by other members and expand the scope of an idea.
  • You can add support to a great idea your organization can benefit from by voting on posted ideas that you wish to see as future enhancements.
  • You can ask questions on the posted ideas to get a better understanding of current product capabilities.
  • You can directly post a message to another member on an Idea.
  • You can check and assess the popularity of an idea you have entered.

How do I know if anyone has voted or commented on my Ideas or Discussions?

As part of your Profile, you can configure Notification Preferences for your areas of interest. You can also elect to “Follow” any category of Ideas to ensure you are being updated on any activity in that area.

To “Follow” a Category in the Idea Space:

Find the Category in the PeopleSoft Ideas Lab, click on the 3-dot link and from that list, select “Follow”

For personalizing your Notifications, you can configure those in your Profile.

Click on your Profile icon on the upper right side of the page and select “Edit Profile”.  Once on that page, you will see a left menu item “Notification Preferences”. Select that option to configure your Notification Preferences. Your options for Notification are many…..you may end up tweaking your preferences and method of notification if you find you are inundated with too many notifications based on your initial set-up.

Many community members have contributed great ideas which have received enthusiastic support from the Oracle Community and become product enhancements. Customers and Partners have first-hand information on rapidly changing business requirements, and can seed the Idea Space with new ideas for the Oracle/PeopleSoft products which will eventually benefit all the PeopleSoft users.
