Did you know approximately 50% of new enhancements in PeopleSoft come directly from Idea Space?  Imagine having a direct channel to communicate what you want to see in your PeopleSoft modules. That's not a distant dream. It's a reality today thanks to the PeopleSoft Ideas Lab, often known as "Idea Space." This community platform lets you bring your thoughts for product improvements right to the people who can make them happen.

How It Works

The process is straightforward and designed to give your thoughts the visibility they need:

  • Submit Ideas: Got a feature request? Directly share it with our PeopleSoft Strategy and Development teams.
  • Search and Vote: Explore already submitted ideas and vote on them to show how essential they are to you.
  • Engage: Share comments, suggestions, and follow the discussion around each idea.
  • Stay Updated: Receive status updates on ideas you care about.

Categories for Every Need

Ideas are grouped into four main PeopleSoft categories. Each category is a hub for submitting enhancement requests and gathering community votes.

  • Campus Solutions (CS)
  • Financials (FSCM)
  • Human Capital Management (HCM)
  • Technical (Tech)

Make Your Idea Shine: A Few Quick Tips

When you have that lightbulb moment and are ready to share it with the PeopleSoft community, how you present your idea can make all the difference. Here are some practical tips for promoting your idea and ensuring it stands out:

  • Post one idea at a time - It's best to limit each post to a single idea to keep discussions focused and allow for meaningful feedback. Think through your idea carefully, identify its core concept, and create a post centered around it.
  • Use a descriptive title - A clear, descriptive title instantly grabs attention and gives an overview of your idea. Keep it short but impactful.
  • Be clear and concise:  The details matter. Briefly outline your idea and its importance. Be concise yet comprehensive—don't leave out key details. Also, provide context for why the idea matters. Specify the user roles and/or industries that would benefit from its implementation.
  • Use Visuals and Images:  A picture is worth a thousand words. Visuals can simplify complex issues, helping others quickly understand your idea. Attach screenshots, flowcharts, or sketches that can supplement your written explanation. Just be cautious about sensitive details.
  • Communicate Your Ideas:  Are you a Quest Oracle Community member?  Join the PeopleSoft User Group to further promote and discuss your idea with other customers in their monthly call.
  • Update Your Profile:  While it’s perfectly okay to leave your community profile generic (i.e., User_XYZAB), adding a bit more information like your name, company name, or industry can be beneficial for both us and the broader community.

Voting and Following Made Easy

To make your voice heard and ensure that the best ideas rise to the top, voting and following are crucial steps in the PeopleSoft Ideas Lab.

  • Increased Visibility: Ideas with the most votes catch the eye of our Strategy & Development teams. High votes signal a strong community desire for a particular feature or improvement.
  • To Vote: Simply click the up or down arrows next to the idea in the list, or on the idea's detail page. When you create a new idea, don't forget to also vote for it. Votes are consolidated by company domain to represent one impactful vote.

  • Stay in the Loop: By following your favorite categories, you're reminded to check for new ideas periodically. This means you can continue to review and vote on emerging ideas that matter to you.
  • To Follow: Navigate to any idea subcategory page and click the bell icon. Once you hit "Follow Category," you'll be presented with options to customize your notifications, ensuring you stay updated on ideas in your areas of interest.
