Saint Paul Public Schools journey to modern PeopleSoft in the Cloud – PeopleSoft NOW! Episode 3.3

This is a special episode where PeopleSoft customer Saint Paul Public Schools discusses their journey with PeopleSoft and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The content is an excerpt from an interview that Paco Aubrejuan, Senior VP of PeopleSoft held with Jeff Cummings from Saint Paul Public Schools and Dan Iverson from psadmin.io.

As the discussion begins, Jeff Cummings shares a little history of how the school went live on PeopleSoft 7.5 in 1998. He states that in 2020, they moved to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for all non-prod and production environments of PeopleSoft. They upgraded to 9.2, with Image 37 for HCM and 38 for FSCM, and PeopleTools 8.59. They have implemented features such as Real-Time Indexing, Fluid navigation, and tiles to focus on use cases for HR administrators. HR is automated with Preferred Name and Fluid Approvals, and Payroll is used to its full potential. The Finance home page has been made easier to navigate with tiles and punch-outs with very few modifications.

According to Jeff, Cloud Manager has been used for PeopleSoft Images and demo environments, and was utilized for their participation in the PeopleTools 8.60 Early Adopters Program.

While closing out the discussion, Jeff and Dan share their recent experience of presenting at the CloudWorld Conference. Their session on “How Saint Paul Public Schools Deployed Oracle’s PeopleSoft on Oracle Cloud” was well received, with a packed room of 50 people interested in PeopleSoft. According to them, after concluding the session, several people approached Jeff and Dan to ask questions about why and how they went to the Cloud and how it’s been put to use.

Since this recording, St. Paul Public Schools has participated in the PeopleTools 8.60 early adopter program. Based on that, they had one more thing to say...
