Requiring people to identify themselves as ‘Male’ or ‘Female’ may not be appropriate if someone does not identify with either option. There has been enough studies to support the fact that gender identity – and its acceptance by family and co-workers – has a huge positive impact on a person.

So, PeopleSoft HCM has delivered Gender Identity feature so that Employees can self-identify their current sex, birth sex, pronouns, sexual orientation and gender identity in system. They will also be able to upload supporting documents, if they want to or need to as per their organization’s policy.

The pronouns selected by the employee displays in the organization’s directory so co-workers are aware of their pronoun preference.

Person Data

Administrators will be able to enter gender and orientation details for employees on Person Data.  The values for the new fields will be configurable and can be defined based on regulatory regions.

This feature is just a small example of how you can leverage PeopleSoft to help support your organization’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy.
