EEO-1 Component 1 Data Collection The EEO-1 Component 1 report is a mandatory annual data collection that requires all private sector employers with 100 or more employees, and federal contractors with 50 or more employees meeting certain criteria, to submit workforce demographic data, including data by job category and sex and race or ethnicity, to the EEOC. The 2023 EEO-1 report needs to be submitted to the EEOC by June 4, 2024.

The workforce snapshot period for the 2023 EEO-1 report would be an employer selected pay period between October 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023.

Note: EEOC made reporting change for the 2022 EEO-1 reporting and those changes will also be needed for the 2023 reporting (bug#36029865, delivered in Image 48)
The updated version of 2022 & 2023 EEO-1 Reporting includes the following changes:
• “Company ID” is now referred to as “OFS Company ID.”
• “Establishment/Unit ID” is now “HQ/Establishment-Level Unit ID.”
• For Multi Establishment Federal Contractors, UEI (Field 188) is mandatory.
• If a multi-establishment filer headquarters or non-headquarters establishment is a federal contractor but does not have a UEI, or is unsure of which UEI to use, enter the following language in this field: UNAVAILABLE.
• Commas are not permitted in Remarks field.
• UEI, or is unsure of which UEI to use, enter the following language in this field: UNAVAILABLE. Commas are not permitted.
