This is a follow-up to last year’s blog titled DocuSign has begun phasing out its legacy username/password authentication method. Find out how this impacts PeopleSoft and your organization.  It announced DocuSign’s plans to end support of legacy authentication methods.  If you’re unsure which API method your organization is using, please check out this blog for guidance.

Starting in August 2023, DocuSign will exclusively provide support for OAuth 2.0 flows for REST and App Password for SOAP as API authentication methods. The July 2023 release of PeopleSoft’s FSCM Image 48 includes the newest API requirements for OAuth 2.0 from DocuSign.  Integration with App Password for SOAP was delivered in FSCM Image 47.  Your organization now has the option to connect your DocuSign account with PeopleSoft’s Supplier Contract Management system by utilizing either OAuth 2.0 for REST or App Password for SOAP integration method.

With these advanced services, your organization can enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

  • OAuth 2.0 offers enhanced security measures
  • OAuth 2.0 is compliant with privacy regulations
  • OAuth 2.0 supports Single Sign On (SSO)
  • Fewer administrative problems such as when users change their passwords using legacy OAuth integrations
  • DocuSign provides best practices, support, and documentation for OAuth 2.0 and App Password
  • No code changes to implement App Password for SOAP

With PeopleSoft’s FSCM Image 48, users can also utilize Signing Group capabilities for DocuSign.  A Signing Group refers to a collection of users who possess equal signing authority. This group enables any member to access and manage documents assigned to the group.  Signing Groups are created and maintained in DocuSign and then synchronized into PeopleSoft.  Use the Signing Group to populate the recipients rather than selecting each individual.

After the document is signed, it becomes complete and the notifications are automatically removed from the other signers.

By utilizing DocuSign OAuth 2.0 and Signing Groups capabilities, PeopleSoft’s Supplier Contract Management provides a highly advanced solution that streamlines the contract management process.  This enhanced security, dependability, and efficiency provides organizations with the confidence to allocate their resources to other critical aspects of their operations while ensuring fast and secure contract signing.  This approach maintains the optional level of efficiency and effectiveness required for successful contract management.
